He graduated in Computer Science Engineering at the University of Pavia in 1996, and received a Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering from the same university in 2000. He worked in several international research collaborations in the fields of Fuzzy Logic, Indexing and Data Mining algorithms and spoke at international conferences. He is author of scientific publications in the fields of Indexing algorithms. He worked for 3 years for Microsoft Consulting Services Italy and carried out projects with Accenture, Telecom Italia and Cedacri, among others. During his spell at Microsoft he graduated at the European Services Academy and worked as a Solution Architect & Business Intelligent expert, being involved in the most important and challenging Telco, Financial and Industry Italian projects based on Olap Technology. Francesco Civardi, Chief Scientist & Business Consultant, graduated cum laude in Electronics Engineering at the University of Pavia, has over twenty years experience applying data mining, neural networks, olap, mathematical & statistical modelling, operations research and optimisation techniques to very different areas, from bio-medicine (Pavia University) to environment (Public Administration), from discrete manufacturing (Ferrari Sportscars) to chemical process control (Unilever), from  sales and logistics (Diversey Lever) to banking and finance  (Cedacri). Since 1998 the world of financial modelling (interest rates, derivatives, ALM, VAR etc.) has caught his attention, together with the techniques used to analyse and manage the various types of risks involved (market, credit and operational risks). In 2004 he will held a Data Mining course at the Computer Science Dept. of the Catholic University of Brescia. Carlo Emilio Salaroglio, Application Development Manager, has 3 years experience in Programming Applications particularly under the Microsoft Office suite and 2 years as Functional Analyst. He graduated in Business Administration Engineering at University of Turin in 1999. He worked for 3 years for Microsoft Consulting Services Italy and carried out projects with Accenture, Omnitel, Rai, San Paolo among others. During his time at Microsoft he graduated at the European Services Academy and worked as Application's Developer for Business Intelligent Applications based on Olap Technology. Paolo Giancane, Strategic Advisor, has a 12-year-experience in investment banking having worked in the corporate finance teams at JP Morgan, Lehman Brothers and UniCredit CIB. In the last four years, he was Deputy General Manager of UniCredit's financial advisory practice in Greater China. Paolo has worked in Milan, London, New York, Sofia, Beijing and Hong Kong taking part to multi-billion transactions as well as medium-size pre-IPO financing. During his career he covered the Media&Telecom industry and, more recently, the energy sector, nurturing valuable relationships especially in Italy, Spain and China. Paolo received a BA from Bocconi University in Milan and a MSc in Finance from London Business School. He speaks fluently English, Spanish and Italian with a good knowledge of French, Portuguese and Mandarin. Paolo brings to Daisylabs valuable strategic advice and client origination valued added.
